Executive Director | Chief Thriver Wingmate | Founder

Wang Shein is the founder, president, and executive director of Unicorn Cancer Thrivers Foundation. He was the wingmate to his best friend / wife / metastatic unicorn thriver, Janice Choe, for 25 years until her passing in May 2022. He founded the charity, as a promise, to take forward her wishes, life lessons and ideas to improve the quality of life for metastatic breast cancer patients and caregivers, and empower them from a state of trauma to one of thriving past all odds.

Wang is at Google Maps, enriching the lives and livelihoods of over 2 billion people. Before that, he was with Accenture and Slalom Consulting, helping global companies deliver positive impact through technology and analytics, with focus on pharma and life science.

He is daddy to their two rambunctious Cavachon pups, finds peace outdoors, seeks unicorns, and talks to Janice during sunsets. Mountain View, CA, is home.

Director | Treasurer

Stephanie Schield is deeply honored to serve the cancer community through the Unicorn Cancer Thrivers Foundation as a Director and Treasurer and is passionate about its mission to enable those affected by cancer to thrive. This passion is rooted in the love she has for her father who passed from liver cancer within months of being diagnosed and for Janice, one of her best friends and the inspiration for the foundation. On a personal level, Stephanie sees this as an opportunity to honor their memory and continue the work that Janice started as a cancer thriver and restless advocate.

Stephanie brings 15 years of experience in finance / accounting and consulting. She is currently a Senior Finance Manager at Visa Inc. supporting Technology and Operations & Infrastructure functions and formerly a consultant at KPMG where she first met Janice 13 years ago.

Stephanie is an avid Yogi and lives with her husband and two young daughters in Denver, Colorado where they enjoy exploring the outdoors, running off to the mountains to hike, camp, and snowboard whenever possible.

Director | Secretary

Joanna Cabral serves as Director and Secretary at Unicorn Cancer Thrivers, supporting the foundation’s mission to bring focus and attention on the individual lives of metastatic cancer thrivers.

She brings 10 years of experience in Corporate Finance where she has led roles in Accounting in two fortune 500 companies.

Joanna is also a parent of two children, a children’s book author, and long-time sports enthusiast. She was born and raised in central Massachusetts and currently resides in Austin TX with her husband and children.
